I was hoping FC would permit many mock-ups to be trailed before I settle on a final design. So, my angle iron running inside the C-section or on the outside of the C-section is something yet to be decided. Then I’ll be wanting to fit 45-degree brackets between the trusses and the posts. I was hoping to use FC to show the existing structure with details of how one piece of steel will join the next, at right angles, at 45 degrees, including details of where my bolts will go, etc.įor example, one of the things I’ll be wanting to do is locate some angle iron or RHS inside a C-section post. I need to figure out how to link old with new.Īnd the reason for using FC is that I’m fed up sketching using paper and pencil and getting myself in a knot. btw the description of 'C:\Program Files\FreeCAD 0.21\bin\FreeCAD. I need to work out how to link the existing structure to my new design. thats bad, it should be something like 'Uninstalls Freecad' we had two customers who associated STP files with this EXE (idk why) and as supporter you dont get it on the first view because you see not the associated EXE but their description. I then want to strengthen the structure using additional posts. I want to retain them and reinforce them. The problem I have is that I’m not going to remove any of the old posts. Though, I wonder whether I need to design my own components rather than attempt to use anything that’s available in FC (like Arch or Dodo). That looks like a whole new playing field.
